MODULE 08 — MANAGING EXPECTATIONS

01 / 03

MANAGING EXPECTATIONS

Unmet expectations are the number one source of customer disappointment.

When a customer expects something different from what actually happens, trust breaks — even if the outcome was objectively good.

Wrong timeframe

"It'll be there tomorrow" → arrives in 4 days → frustrated customer, repeat call.

Vague commitment

"Someone will look into it" → no follow-up → customer feels abandoned.

Overpromise

"I'll definitely sort that" → you can't → customer loses trust.
